Custom Windows for International Projects: Our hallmark is Germantown, NY, USA
An Exclusive Setting, an Ambitious Project
Germantown is a hidden gem nestled in the natural beauty of Columbia County, New York—just over two hours from Manhattan. In this residential area known for its exclusive villas, there is a growing appreciation for sustainable contemporary architecture, designed to harmonize with the landscape and meet the evolving needs of America’s upper class.
It is here, in the Cornfield neighborhood, that GIEMME took part in a high-end residential project, led by an Italian architect resident in the U.S.A. A valuable partnership, where design vision and technical execution came together to address a very specific need: delivering custom-made windows for large openings, with absolute precision and flawless logistics.
Custom Work Begins with Collaboration
In a project like this—where every detail is selected with both aesthetic and functional rigor—a technical partner cannot simply deliver a product. He must step inside the architect’s vision, understand the logic, and anticipate the needs. That’s why our work began not with a spec sheet, but with listening.
The request was clear: design oversized windows with structural glazing, requiring tight tolerances and meticulous care throughout production and shipping. A challenge that demands experience, precision, and logistical mastery—especially when the construction site is over 6,000 km away.
Special Packaging, Seamless Transport
To ensure maximum protection during international shipment, each window was:
- placed on a custom-built pallet, tailored to the exact dimensions of the window;
- securely anchored to prevent any movement during transit;
- enclosed in an OSB crate—a high-performance engineered wood panel known for its strength, durability, and resistance to impact, humidity, and temperature changes. Unlike raw wood, OSB is denser and less porous, minimizing the risk of moisture infiltration, shocks, or bacterial contamination during transport.
This in-house packaging solution, developed by our technical team, allowed us to:
- perform the structural silicone glazing directly in our factory, ensuring optimal adhesion and eliminating the risk of vibration damage during shipping;
- streamline on-site installation times by delivering pre-finished products;
- facilitate the work of local crews, who received windows that were perfectly protected and easy to handle.
Architects Need Partners Who Understand Design
In international architecture, true value lies not just in the product, but in the ability to support the designer’s vision—even from across the ocean.
At GIEMME, we understand how essential it is for a supplier to bring technical credibility to the table, especially in international contexts. That’s why we offer an end-to-end service—starting with design consultation, moving through tailored production, and culminating in logistics designed around the window.
